Play Therapy

What is play therapy?

Play therapy is a form of counseling used with children to help them act out their experiences, feelings and problems. As play therapists, we provide a safe place for the child to explore his or her inner world and learn new ways of behaving.

What are the benefits of play therapy?

Young children communicate most easily through their play. In the play therapy session they are free to express who they are and what they need. While expressing themselves and encountering safe limits set by the therapist, children learn:

  • self-respect and self-control;
  • awareness and acceptance of their feelings;
  • problem-solving skills;
  • and positive behaviors.
